MY PRIORITIES
promoting student success

STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT
I am committed to students' academic success, mental health, and social, emotional, and behavioral development by:
closing the achievement gap while continuing to challenge our most capable learners
using data to guide instruction and supporting teachers as they implement instructional best practices
increasing student support services
developing school/business partnerships to prepare students for life after graduation

COMMUNICATEÂ AND BUILD CONSENSUS
I am committed to:
listening to and valuing differing viewpoints of individuals and community groups
asking questions and contributing different perspectives to board discussions
implementing policies to protect students rights and parents' rights regarding their children's education
communicating with legislators about the impact of the state budget on our district

FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY
I am proud of minimizing taxpayer burden, since only 15% - 20% of our budget comes from the state, by strategically using district resources and community support to accomplish the following:
add needed classroom space
build the Hodag Dome
keep building maintenance up to date
responsible budgeting
I want Rhinelander facilities to meet district and community needs with minimal impact on taxpayers.

ATTRACT AND RETAIN QUALITY STAFF
Teachers and support staff are the most important factor in student learning and success. I have worked with the Board to:
offer competitive wages to hire the best teachers and keep them in our district so they are not lured away by neighboring districts
provide professional development to enhance their knowledge and skills
make time available for collaboration to share strategies so they can meet the needs of each and every student
support implementation of best practices and use of data to measure student learning and guide instruction
